Jessie Donaldson is an an emerging Canadian artist who utilizes found objects, everyday moments and interactions, curiosity, and in-head imagery as raw materials for her practice, often resulting in drawings, assemblages or short animations. Through the process of thoughtful Play, she attempts to reconcile her whole and honest Self within ever-changing environments and communities. If art is a way to explore the human condition, it is her hope that the resulting visual truths of this process can act as springboards for genuine (although sometimes wordless) human connection.
Lucia Volker is an interdisciplinary artist from Oregon who has trained in Printmaking at the University of Utah. She is interested in the intersections of painting, printmaking, and installation, and is focusing on creating immersive environments that highlight aspects of transparency and opacity in intimate relationships and mass media.
We're thrilled to have these artists in-house, and to present their work in the Gallery. Stop by to see them at work in the studio & meet them in person throughout the month!
