A Victoria based contemporary artist, Fern’s sculptural work and paintings explore the intersection of architecture and personal history, fluctuating between recognition and abstraction, physical construction and storytelling. Each begins with a house, beguilingly simple yet experienced so uniquely. What does it mean to have a home? A prison or a refuge, a place of belonging or no more than a suitcase; it is a physical space but also an emotional landscape inextricably bound with memory.
